Associate ProfessorI have been consistently engaged in research in the field of image information processing. Recently, my focus has been on developing technology that visualizes objects and phenomena invisible to the human eye by measuring and analyzing the propagation of light hitting a subject. Furthermore, I conduct research activities spanning technology development to support animated video production, exploration of stage production, and investigation of texture reproduction using CG. My efforts encompass a wide range of fields aimed at advancing imaging technologies.
Recent Topics of Interest:
Imaging technology to enrich people's lives
Motto in Research or in Life:
Address a problem as simply as possible

ProfessorMy research focuses on the construction of an economic theory on sustainability that encompasses both capital bases and throughput resources. Also, I have been working on research activities to provide information on sustainability at the local government level to support policy formulation through a back-casting approach. This includes visualizing the impact of population decline and understanding the potential for decarbonization.

Associate ProfessorThe “intestinal mucosa” serves not only as a site for digestion and absorption, but also plays a crucial role in biological regulation, including the immune system. Through research on intestinal mucosal immunity, we are making efforts to establish treatments for diseases such as fibrotic and allergic diseases (e.g., inflammatory bowel disease and food allergy), which can result in multi-organ failure. Furthermore, in recent years, intestinal bacteria capable of crossing the intestinal barrier and infecting and translocating extra-intestinal organs have been regarded as the potential “causes of various diseases.” Therefore, we are conducting research aimed to identify and control pathogenic commensal bacteria. Our ongoing immunological research is progressing diligently and steadily.
Recent Topics of Interest: Organ axis, Pathogenic commensal bacteria, Peripheral immune education, Inflammatory bowel disease

ProfessorI am working theoretically on gravitational wave astrophysics to study astronomical objects and the universe while seeking to understand the fundamental laws of physics, including the properties of gravitational waves themselves. Because currently strongly-gravitating objects are the main sources of gravitational waves, I am particularly focusing on the spacetime structure around black holes and the nature of dense nuclear matter comprising neutron stars.
Recent Topics of Interests:
QCD phase structure, Supermassive binary black hole mergers, Dark matter detection through gravitational waves, Observation of Hawking radiation
Motto in Research or in Life:
Conduct research beneficial to physics.
Do not conduct research anyone can come up with.
Hobby / Holiday:
Studying topics outside my research field, playing the electric bass
