Professor / Director To address environmental issues and maintain the growth of an advanced civilized society, the advancement of sophisticated organic chemistry, focused on "manufacturing," is indispensable.
I am actively developing novel and efficient methods for constructing organic molecules to innovate valuable compounds such as medicines.
In addition, I am conducting research harnessing the unique properties of iodine sourced from Chiba Prefecture.
Recent Topics of Interests:
Creating molecules that were once beyond our reach
Realizing science that utilizes the properties of elements like iodine
Motto in Research or in Life:
Do what you must, not just what you can.
Hobby / Holiday
In search of nice hot springs and some good drinks, I drive my car for a trip.

Associate ProfessorControlling the reactivity of highly active species remains one of the most significant challenges in synthetic organic chemistry. My research focuses on utilizing highly unstable carbon-species known as ‘Carbenes' for pharmaceutical synthesis. These reactive species typically have lifetimes of less than one second and cannot be isolated, making their properties accessible through computational theoretical analysis.
Recent Topics of Interest:
Complementary integrated research combining experimental chemistry with theoretical modelling
Motto in Research or in Life:
Never let hardship cloud your mind.
Hobby / Holiday:
Weight training and spending time with my children
Graduate School of Engineering, Chiba University
Assistant ProfessorI find joy in creating molecules and have broad interests across various research fields. My current research focuses on organic–inorganic hybrid materials that combine the properties of both classes of substances, metal-free materials with metallic luster, and the synthesis of organic compounds and metal complexes with unique structures and physical properties. I also aim to implement the materials I develop in real-world applications.
Recent Topics of Interest:
• Metal-free materials with metallic luster
• Thermal insulation materials
• Materials that convert heat into other forms of energy
and more!
Motto in Research or in Life:
Do what brings you both joy and fascination
Be kind to others and strict with myself—though I’m still working on that!
Hobby / Holiday:
Playing sports (especially soccer), mountain climbing (currently on hiatus), and laid-back camping
