ProfessorMy research focuses on developing and applying minimally invasive, everyday measurement methods, such as wearable devices and saliva-based testing, alongside advancing AI and mathematical analysis technologies for the early detection and prediction of diseases.
I mainly target infectious diseases, inflammatory diseases, and lifestyle-related illnesses, which often arise and progress due to multifactorial causes. Through the integrating large-scale clinical data, specimen collection, and cutting-edge AI and data science technologies, I purse researching on disease stratification as well as disease onset and prognosis prediction.
Recent Topics of Interest:
・ Health and disease assessment using time-series data (moving beyond single-point test values to gain deeper insights)
・ Dynamic causal inference (potentially valuable for selecting treatments tailored to evolving pathological conditions, transitioning from prediction to intervention).
・ Mathematical optimization (to explore experimental and treatment conditions that have traditionally been determined empirically.)
Motto in Research or in Life:
・ Strategically placing stones towards a big goal.
・ Considering myself as one of the pawns to maximize research outcomes.
・ Students and research fellows are also equal collaborators.
・ The purpose of research is not to gain achievements or fame but to contribute to society by uncovering and implementing the truth.
Hobby / Holiday:
I have enjoyed playing the drums for 20years. I also value spending with my family solving puzzles, including escape games and other challenges.

ProfessorMy research focuses on elucidating the molecular mechanisms by which plants produce a diverse range of compounds that can serve as medicines or poisons. By studying the genetic aspects of catalytic enzymes involved in substance production, regulatory factors, and proteins responsible for substance transport and self-resistance, I aim to shed light on the evolutionary pathways in this process.
