ProfessorI have obtained a Ph.D. degree through my research on the revegetation of desertified lands in China. Afterward, I focused on conducting ecological studies for conserving and restoring human-influenced ecosystems, including Satoyama and wetlands. Following the Great East Japan Earthquake, my research was focused on the restoration of forests contaminated by the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident. Currently, I am involved in research on the damage and restoration of trees and forests caused by the super-storm.
