Associate ProfessorWith the advancement of deep learning and AI technologies, the gap between human and machine information processing capabilities is narrowing. My research focuses on two key aspects of human cognition: the logical reasoning systems developed over time—especially in mathematics—and the more intuitive, often ambiguous forms of information processing, such as image recognition. Human intellectual ability spans a wide dynamic range, and I aim to explore how various aspects of this intelligence can be modeled and realized through deep learning.

Mathematics—particularly computational algebra and symbolic computation—and the development of novel deep learning technologies.

I enjoy bouldering, reading manga, playing puzzle games like Tetris, and traveling—often making the most of opportunities, such as attending academic conferences.

Hiroyuki KUBO

Associate ProfessorI have been consistently engaged in research in the field of image information processing. Recently, my focus has been on developing technology that visualizes objects and phenomena invisible to the human eye by measuring and analyzing the propagation of light hitting a subject. Furthermore, I conduct research activities spanning technology development to support animated video production, exploration of stage production, and investigation of texture reproduction using CG. My efforts encompass a wide range of fields aimed at advancing imaging technologies.
